Homecoming Parade begins at 5 pm

Kearsley’s Homecoming Parade is Friday, October 4 at 5:00 p.m.

Enjoy the parade, and keep these safety tips in mind:

Before the Parade

  • Arrive early. Genesee Road, from Carpenter Rd. to Daly Blvd., will be closed at 4:45 p.m.

  • Select a meeting spot.  Share a location with your family/friends attending to meet if you get separated or where to reunite with parade walkers when the parade is over.

  • Park safely. Please do not block personal or business driveways.

  • Dress for the weather. The parade will take place rain or shine. It will only be canceled if there is a weather alert.

During the Parade

  • Stay out of the street. Do not run across the street directly in front of the parade procession, or march in parade unless you are a member of a group and submitted a permission slip ahead of time.

  • Watch for security & parade volunteers. Please be mindful of the parade marshals, volunteers, and officials assisting with the parade as they work to make the parade a success.

  • Collect candy carefully. For the safety of your family and the people participating in the parade, keep children from running into the parade route to collect candy. Be careful when picking up throws off the ground that others don’t step on your hand.

After the Parade

  • Be a good neighbor. Please do not litter. Gather everything you brought with you to the parade or use one of the trash cans at KHS.

  • Reunite with family members. Find parade walkers at your predetermined meeting spot.

  • Celebrate Homecoming with other Hornets. Attend the Tailgate Party on the KHS front lawn from 5:30-7:00 p.m. & enjoy a cook-out dinner and fun activities.

  • Elementary students redeem their “Free Treat” tickets at designated tables near Tailgate Party on KHS front lawn.

  • Show your spirit.

Cheer on the Hornets at the varsity football game & half-time show starting at 7:00 p.m.
